In this course, you will learn how to organize and operate a small business...
You will develop an understanding of business planning, management, marketing, and basic financial concepts through the development of your own individual business ideas, and through your work as part of a team managing “Sartain’s Menu,” a business recently donated to our school.
During the course you will come to understand entrepreneurship as a process of economic and/ or social value creation. You’ll learn to recognize opportunities, and to assemble the financial and human resources necessary to develop an idea and launch a new venture.
Throughout the course, you will develop transferable skills necessary for employment in today’s growth industries, and you’ll explore the desirability and feasibility of entrepreneurship as a career option. You will learn to solve problems creatively, to make decisions thoughtfully, and to interact with co-workers effectively.
This course will also prepare you to communicate effectively using many forms of emerging technology.
You will be learning to make powerful presentations, and to use the Internet to achieve your goals.
